Bulldogs add transfer Jackson

Cumberland wrestling coach Todd Allen announced the signing of Corryton native Stephen Jackson to scholarship papers for the 2013-14 season this week.

Jackson is transferring to CU after redshirting last year at King University.

The Gibbs High School product was a four-year letterwinner for coach Tim Pittman and the Eagles, winning one region championship and finishing as runner-up twice. He was a three-time state qualifier, earned first team All-KIL honors and garnered a pair of Knoxville News-Sentinelsecond team Prep-Xtra accolades.

Jackson posted a 51-10 record as a senior with 30 pins as well as serving as team captain. He finished his career as a member of the 100-win club at GHS. He is the son of Steve and Lisa Jackson.

Jackson joins Kendall Small, Coby Walker, Niko Kolgaklis, JohnMark Reddick, Dakota Bromley, Dalton Baysinger, Tom Gattinella, Justis Griffith, Corey Daniels, Nate Croley, Christian Varner, Jordan McCoy, Ross Brister and Kyle Delaune in this year’s recruiting class.
