COLUMBIA — Mt. Juliet Christian crushed host Zion Christian 48-0 in middle-school football Thursday night.

Quarterback Alex Pitman produced three touchdowns while running back Tristan Mathis and fullback Josh Jose each added one. Preston Sloan returned a kick for another score. All two-point conversions were good.

Defensively, the Saints allowed just one first down. Cornerback Noah Michael, for the second straight game, and defensive end Hunter Stonebreaker each had an interception.

"The guys were very focused and ready to play as they took the field," Mt. Juliet Christian coach Mike Kittrell said after his Saints moved to 2-0. "Our guys really swarmed to the ball carrier tonight. We just overwhelmed their offense and forced a lot of three-and-outs."

Mt. Juliet Christian will play host to Providence Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday at Suey Field.
