Harper, defense powers Jacket shutout of Macon

LAFAYETTE — Kenyon Harper scored two second-half touchdowns and a first-half two-point conversion Friday night as Trousdale County opened its season with a 29-0 shutout of longtime rival Macon County.

Harper scored on an 8-yard run early in the third quarter and a 74-yard pass from Marquel Claiborne late to seal the scoring. He also ran in a two-point conversion following fullback Dillon Burnley's 52-yard scoring run late in the first period.

Wingback Zach Blackwell opened the scoring with a 30-yard run 3 1/2 minutes in.

Defensive end James Kelley helped the Yellow Jackets pitch the shutout with 11 tackles, including two for loss.

Trousdale County will travel to Pleasant View next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Sycamore.
