Wilson Central, Watertown see action in Fall Fling

GLADEVILLE – Host-team Wilson Central and Watertown each couldn’t get past the first round of play Saturday in the 11th annual Fall Fling in girl’s volleyball action.

The Lady Wildcats finished 2-4 in pool play Friday and Saturday, defeating Central Magnet (24-26, 25-20, 15-9) and LaVergne (25-9, 26-24). Wilson Central fell to Cookeville, White Station, Franklin and Portland.

In bracket play Saturday, Cookeville defeated Wilson Central (25-10, 27-25) in the first round. White Station was the gold division tournament champion.

Watertown finished 3-3 Friday and Saturday in pool play, defeating Hillwood (25-19, 25-21), McGavock (25-16, 25-13) and Northeast (25-18, 25-23). The Lady Purple Tigers lost to Station Camp, Franklin and Oakland.

In bracket play Saturday, LaVergne defeated Watertown (25-21, 25-17) in the first round. Macon County was silver division tournament champion.
