Lebanon hands MJ first 9-AAA loss

Lebanon handed visiting Mt. Juliet its first District 9-AAA loss of the season Monday 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22.

Alex Britt led Lebanon with 20 digs, 20 kills, two aces, an assist and a block while Tatum Thompson finished with 41 assists, 12 digs, a kill and a block; Bri Clemmons nine kills and a block, Kelsey Yarbrough eight kills and a block and Nicole Painter six kills and four blocks.

Lebanon lost the junior-varsity match 25-22, 22-25, 15-11.

Taylor Black finished with five kills, five assists, four digs and an ace while Erin Arnold added eight digs, five kills and an ace and Brooke Pickler seven digs, six assists and four kills.

Lebanon will play host to Portland today for Dig Pink Night. The freshmen will serve off at 4 p.m. the JV at 5 and the varsity at 6. Wilson Central will play at Mt. Juliet at the same time.

Lady ‘Cats climb over .500, sweep Gallatin

GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central climbed above the .500 mark for the season Monday with a 25-12, 25-12, 25-12 District 9-AAA sweep of visiting Gallatin.

Jordan Fitzgerald finished with 15 assists, seven aces, four digs and two kills for Central while Cassie Bryant collected four kills, three aces, two assists and a dig; Libby Trowbridge 11 kills, a dig and an assist; Brittany Wiseman seven digs, two aces and two assists; Natalie Walker four kills, two digs and two assists; Delaney McCorkle four kills and a block, Macy Wright three digs and a kill, Ginger Walker three kills and a dig, Claire Smith three digs and an assist, Averi Usher a kill and a dig, Amy Trice six assists,  Casey Hughes two aces and Kristen Guethlein an ace as the Lady Wildcats climbed to 16-15 for the season and 6-4 in the district.

Cental’s junior varsity also won 25-14, 25-19.

The Lady Wildcats will be at Mt. Juliet tonight and at Hendersonville on Thursday before playing host to Portland next Tuesday for Senior Night.
