GAINESBORO -- Joseph Walton sent the Watertown Purple Tigers out on a disappointing note Friday night.

Walton ran for 327 yards and five touchdowns as he led Jackson County to a 49-35 shootout victory.

Jackson County finished the season 5-5 while Watertown ended its season at 2-8.

The Purple Tigers offense was still sizzling thanks to quarterback Ty Jobe. Jobe had four touchdown passes to four different receivers.

He threw a touchdown pass to Kendall Newcombe that helped Watertown get within 22-12 at the half, then added a 38-yarder to Luke Turner that made the score 35-20 at the end of three quarters.

Jobe threw a 58-yard pass to Brandon George in the fourth quarter, then added a 5-yard scoring toss to Dakota Self to close out the Purple Tigers' scoring.

Unfortunately for Watertown, Jobe's heroics weren't enough to offset Walton's big night. He had touchdown runs of 3, 9, 3, 3 and 19 yards. He also had 48 carries.
