HARTSVILLE — The beat rolled on for Trousdale County's football team Friday night.
Kenyan Harper ran for three first-quarter touchdowns as the Yellow Jackets beat Marion County 41-14 in a Class 2A state quarterfinal, running their record to 12-0.
Trousdale County will face Knoxville Grace in a state semifinal next weekend, with the winner playing the following week for the state title.
Marion County's season ended at 10-3. The Warriors had a rough end to their season, culminating with the resignation of coach Mac McCurry amid a vandalism scandal at the end of the regular season.
The Yellow Jackets' focus wasn't so much on that story, but rather last year's playoff loss to Marion County -- by an identical 27-point margin, 48-21.
The scoring started quickly when Harper ran for a 61-yard touchdown to give the Yellow Jackets a 7-0 lead. Marion County rallied back quickly, returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to tie the game.
Harper scored again in the first quarter, getting touchdown runs of 6 and 4 yards as the Yellow Jackets went back in front, 21-7.
Marquel Claiborne had a 19-yard touchdown run right before the end of the half, pushing the margin to 28-7.
Christian Lauderdale had a pair of field goals in the second half and Chase Dallas had an 8-yard touchdown run in the final minutes to account for the final score.
Harper finished with 233 yards on 20 carries. James Kelley led the Yellow Jackets' defense with 12 tackles.
