West Wilson sweeps Winfree Bryant

MT. JULIET — West Wilson’s boys beat visiting Winfree Bryant 50-29 Monday night to complete a middle-school basketball sweep started with the Lady Wildcats’ 26-20 triumph.

Gavin Johnson’s 15 points and Dennis Stallings’ 14, including back-to-back three-pointers, led the Wildcats, who climbed to 7-2. Dalton King collected 10 points, Daniel Jackson three free throws and Cameron Bass, Jeffery Crawford, Nathaneil Paredez and Brian Aiken two points apiece.

Kemon Neuble scored 17 for Winfree Bryant while Elijah Terry tossed in six, Joe Greenwood three,Bubba Rhodes two and Kito Aruh a free throw.

The Lady Wildcats led 16-9 at halftime.

Taylor Tucker knocked in nine points for West Wilson while Kenadhi Killebrew scored seven, including 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Sarah Harmon had three points; Bailey Kaposy, Connor Coward and Kaylee Richetto two each and Dottie Mack a free throw.

Samantha Newton notched nine points and Maleigha Oldham seven for Winfree Bryant.

West Wilson will play host to crosstown-rival Mt. Juliet at 6 p.m. Thursday while Winfree Bryant travels to Carroll-Oakland at the same time.

Friendship girls fall at Lancaster

SMYRNA — Friendship Christian’s girls dropped a 52-32 decision at Lancaster Christian on Monday night.

The Lady Commanders were led sixth-grade guard Lindsey Freeman’s 15 points. Sarah Terry finished with five, Liv Sims four and Kendall Tipton, AnnaBelle Gallaher, Aja Jones and Cameron Burton two each as Friendship fell to 2-3.

FCS will play host to Middle Tennessee Christian at 6 p.m. Monday at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

First-quarter shutout ignites sixth-grade Commanders to victory

Friendship Christian’s sixth-grade boys pitched a first-quarter shutout Tuesday night to ignite the Commanders to a 36-25 triumph over visiting Providence Christian at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

The Commanders led 10-0 following the first quarter and 18-3 at halftime as they climbed to 5-0.

Jared Dickey and Grayson Cole tossed in 10 points apiece for Friendship while Justin Seagraves added eight, Camden Hayslip five, Alek Kulas two and Lee Palmer Bridges a free throw.

Friendship will play host to Brentwood Academy in a battle of unbeatens on Friday following the girls’ 5 p.m. game at the Sportsplex. The Eagles are 5-0 this year and went undefeated last season.
