MJ Middle girls outlast West Wilson

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Middle’s girls outlasted host West Wilson 25-23 in the battle of North Mt. Juliet Road on Thursday night.

The host Lady Wildcats led 4-2 following the first quarter and 9-8 at halftime before Mt. Juliet moved in front 20-14 going into the fourth.

Sydney Throneberry led the Lady Bears with nine points while Kathryn Bean scored seven, Julia Maki five, Keah Ellis three and Alex Houston a free throw.

Kenadhi Killebrew led the Lady Wildcats with 11 points while Sarah Harthon had five, Taylor Tucker and Chelsea David each had three and Bailey Kaposy a free throw.

Mt. Juliet will play host to Southside at 6 p.m. Monday at Tommy Martin Gym.

Southside boys top Tuckers Crossroads

TUCKERS CROSSROADS — Southside’s boys rolled past host Tuckers Crossroads 49-23 Thursday night.

The Saints led 17-6 following the first quarter, 28-11 at halftime and 47-14 going into the fourth as they improved to 7-4.

Ethan Shelton sank three 3-pointers in leading Southside with 15 points while Cameron Marshall notched nine points, Eric Odum eight, Nathan Harris and Dylan McDonald four each, Griffin Creswell three and Aiden Usher, Braden Costley and Baylor Franklin two apiece.

Addison Clinton and Garrett Hughes scored seven points apiece for Tuckers Crossroads while Jonathan Presley put in three, Givey Phillips and Ethan White two apiece and Tay Huttchson and William Dedman a free throw each.

Southside will travel to Mt. Juliet’s Tommy Martin Gym on Monday with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m.


MJCA boys edge Clarksville Academy in overtime

CLARKSVILLE — In a low-scoring affair, Mt. Juliet Christian’s middle-school boys emerged from Clarksville Academy with a 20-19 overtime triumph Thursday night.

Alex Pitman, who led all scorers with 12 points, and Jacob Hall split Mt. Juliet Christian’s four overtime points as the Saints snapped a 16-16 tie before Wyatt Samuels’ third three-pointer beat the buzzer, drawing the Bulldogs to within one.

Josh Jose finished with four points and Hall and Andrew Kittrell two each for the Saints, who returned home 4-5 for the season.

Mt. Juliet Christian led 4-3 following the first quarter and 12-10 going into the fourth. The teams were tied 8-8 at halftime.

MJCA will play host to Poplar Grove on Monday with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m.
