Aviators close with 41-35 win

Winfree Bryant’s boys called it a season after coming from behind in the fourth quarter to defeat visiting Prescott 41-35 Thursday night.

Earlier, Prescott’s girls dealt Winfree Bryant a 29-23 defeat.

The Aviators led 10-8 following the first quarter and 21-17 at halftime before Prescott pulled in front 27-25 going into the fourth as Winfree Bryant pulled even at a final 10-10 mark.

Xavier Mills tossed in 12 points from inside for Winfree Bryant while Kemon Neuble knocked down 11 from the wing. Kito Aruh added eight, Elijah Terry six, Devan Campbell four and Chase Danko two.

Noah Hilliker hit two three-pointers in leading Prescott with 14 points.

The Lady Aviators led 9-4 following the first quarter before falling behind 16-12 at halftime and 19-18 going into the fourth as they finished a 6-10 season.

No one scored in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs.

Samantha Newton knocked down 13 points from the post for Winfree Bryant while Maleigha Oldham had nine and Jillian Tramel a free throw.

FCS middle boys end season with 41-28 triumph

Friendship Christian’s middle school boys closed their season with a 41-28 triumph over visiting Ezell-Harding on Thursday night at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

Earlier, Friendship’s girls saw a big halftime lead disappear as they dropped a 34-28 decision.

The Commanders scored 10 points in each of the first three quarters before getting 11 in the fourth as they finished a 10-6 season, a year after going winless. Friendship led by one points after the first period and by eight at halftime.

Point guard Mike Jones Jr.,’s 10 points paced Friendship. Hanley Sobieszczyk scored seven, BenJamison six, Dillon Holland five and Seth Filson, Matthew Skeen and Ethan Bult four each.

Ingram Page’s 10 points paced Ezell-Harding.

The Lady Commanders led 8-6 following the first quarter and 18-10 at halftime before the Lady Eagles soared into a 22-22 tie going into the fourth as Friendship fell to a final 4-10 mark.
