Cumberland softball coach Heather Stanfill announced the signing of Knoxville native Alisa Walker to scholarship papers this week for the 2014-15 academic year.
Walker becomes the fifth signee for the Bulldogs for next season.
Walker is a three-year letterwinner for coach Leonard Sams at Bearden High School in Knoxville, accumulating a career batting average of .387 and a career on-base percentage of .512 during her three seasons for the Bulldogs. She earned the Warrior Award as a freshman at BHS and has also lettered two years in cross country.
She is the daughter of Andy and Angela Walker. Her father lettered two seasons at Cumberland in baseball during the program’s transition to a four-year institution in the mod-80’s.
Walker joins Vienna Benavides, Brittany Rasmussen, Kristen Abell and Brianna Gregory in this year’s recruiting class.
