FCS middle baseball splits on opening day

Friendship Christian opened its middle school baseball season Monday with a 6-0 win over visiting Station Camp and an 8-4 loss to Macon County.

Addison Fakes pitched the first 3 2/3 innings for Friendship against Station Camp before Matthew Swan recorded the final four outs of the combined six-hitter.

Jackson Cherry had two of Friendship’s six hits and also drove in a pair of runs.

The Commanders scored three times in the first and fifth innings.

Macon County put up three-spots in the first and third innings and scored twice in the fourth. Friendship scored in every inning after the first but fell shot as the Commanders were out-hit 8-6.

Ryan Godwin and Ben Jamison each tossed two innings for Friendship.
