Wilson Central wrestling camp June 9-11

Wilson Central will hold a free beginners wrestling camp for any Wilson County elementary or middle school-age student with little or no experience from 10 a.m.-noon June 9-11. Instructors include Wildcats head coach John Kramer, assistants Ken Hammonds [who wrestled at UT-Chattanooga] and Hunter Adcock [Middle Tennessee State] and members of WCHS’ two-time state runner-up team. Babe Ruth signups March 1

Signups for the Lebanon Lions Babe Ruth League will be held at 10 a.m. March 1 at the league’s Eskew Field in Baird Park. The league is open to ages 13-16. For more information, phone league president David Mckinney at 210-1868.

Police vs. lawyers in basketball game to benefit cancer victim

A benefit basketball game between Lebanon police officers [the Peace Keepers] and local attorneys [the Legal Eagles], honoring Bobby [Pirate Bob] Harris, will be held at noon March 1 at Castle Heights Elementary School. Tickets are $5. Concessions will be available. All proceeds will go directly to the family of Harris, a former Castle Heights student who has battling a brain tumor.

MJHS softball alumni game March 1

Mt. Juliet High softball will hold an alumni game at 1 p.m. March 1 at the Lady Bears’ field on the MJHS Curd Road campus. Those interested in playing should email coach Brad Rowlett at rowlettb@wcschools.com, assistant coach Kevin Costley at costleyk@wcschools.com or assistant Kristin Madewell at madewellk@wcschools.com. Participants may also phone the school at 758-5606 and ask for Coach Rowlett.

Central softball spirit night at MJ Zaxby’s

Wilson Central’s softball team and the Zaxby’s restaurant at 719 S. Mt. Juliet Rd. are teaming up for a spirit night from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday. The public is invited to come out to support the Lady Wildcats.

Monday Night Volleyball at CU in March, April

Cumberland volleyball coach Dwayne Deering is accepting applications for the Monday Night Girls Volleyball League at the Dallas Floyd Center. Play will begin March 17 and continue every Monday until April 21. There will be an 18-under and a 14-under division. Players and coaches are urged to enter their team in the league as soon as possible, but individuals may also join and be placed on a team. Cost is $75 per player.
