FCS middle storms past Station Camp twice

Friendship Christian stormed past visiting Station Camp 12-2 and 11-2 in middle-school baseball Friday night.

The Commanders scored in each of the five innings of the opener on 12 hits and six Station Camp errors.

Luke Smith supplied three of Friendship’s hits while Jackson Cherry and Ben Jamison each added two.

Hanley Sobieszczyk, who drove in two runs, threw 3 1/3 innings and Jamison the final five outs.

In the second game, Friendship scored six times in the fifth break the game open as the Commanders climbed to 5-2.

FCS outhit the Bison 8-5. Jamison had three hits and Tarver Hayslip two for the Commanders.

Ethan Bult threw three innings and Ryan Godwin two as the pair allowed five Bison hits and struck out nine.

Friendship will play host to Mt. Juliet Christian at 4 p.m. Monday.

MJCA middle baseball opens with 24-2 win

Mt. Juliet Christian opened its middle school baseball season Thursday night with a 24-2 win over Hendersonville Christian.

“It’s always good to be able to open the season with a win,” coach Mike Kittrell said. “Our kids came pretty focused tonight and that’s something we want to continue building on. We really hit the ball well and defensively we played pretty good with only one error.”

The teams will get together for a rematch at MJCA at 4 p.m. Friday.

In middle school soccer, Mt. Juliet Christian fell to Franklin Christian 4-1 Friday.
