CU golf inks Central Magnet product Burgdorf

Cumberland golf coach Rich Williams announced the signing of Abbey Burgdorf this week to scholarship papers for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Ashland, Ohio, native has played all four years of her high school career at Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro, lettering for coach Jason Patterson and the Tigers. She placed seventh in the TSSAA State Championships as a senior, carding rounds of 81-78 at WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester.

Burgdorf tied for 17th at the state championships as a junior with rounds of 85-88 and was 27th her sophomore year (94-90), all at WillowBrook. She also lettered in basketball at Central Magnet and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Nicolas and Paula Burgdorf.

Burgdorf joins Savanna Strode (Celina), Kaitlin Cartwright (Lafayette) and Morgan Stuckey (Milan) in this year’s recruiting class.
