Central boys edge Lebanon 5-4; LHS girls roll 8-1

Wilson Central and host Lebanon battled the elements as well as each other Monday as the Lady Devils prevailed 8-1 and the Wildcats 5-4 on the Boyd-Rushing Courts.

For the second straight match, Central’s boys won on the last match. Freshman Reece Gaddes defeated Gannon Gregory 8-3 to propel the Wildcats to their second consecutive 5-4 win.

Other Wildcat winners were Nathaniel Dennison over Trent Baggett 6-3, 6-1; Zack Baker over Jake Rodriguez 8-3, Max Rahmani over Griffin Duvall 8-3 and Gaddes and Houston Wood over Clayton Kawasaki and John Kelley 8-2.

Lebanon winners were Kelley over Chase McElfresh 8-4, Kawasaki over Wood 8-5, Baggett and Rodriguez over Dennison and Baker 8-2 and Duvall and Gregory over McElfresh and Rahmani 8-4.

Singles winners for the Lady Devils were Heather Allmond over Lani Lee 6-1, 6-0; Gina Kelley over Michela Micco 9-7, Melissa Bohrman over Kansas Glasgow in a wind-shortened match 5-1, Aitana Asenjo over Rebecca Glenn 8-2 and Katherine Daily over Hallie Wolfe 8-4.

Doubles winners were Allmond and Kelley over Micco and Lee 8-2, Asenjo and Crutcher over Glasgow and Glenn 8-5 and Bohrman and Amy Tribble over Wolfe and Jackie Anderson 8-5.

Central’s only winner was Anderson over Tribble 8-5.

Wilson Central will play host to Station Camp at 3:30 p.m. today.

FCS boys beat Davidson, FRA

Friendship Christian’s boys remained undefeated in Division II play last week with a 5-2 win at Davidson Academy last Monday and a 4-3 decision at Franklin Road Academy on Friday.

FCS singles winners at FRA were Parker Smith over Ian Fair 8-2 and Kushal Shah over Wes Thompson 8-3.

Doubles winners were Noah Baker and Sam Burruss over Will Thompson and John Harris 8-6 and Smith and Shah over Malhan and Fair 8-2.

Friendship will travel to Ezell-Harding on Thursday for a 3:30 p.m. match.
