Lebanon jumped to an early lead, but Wilson Central pounced on the Blue Devils thereafter in an 11-3 District 9-AAA South baseball win Wednesday night at Brent Foster Field.
The Blue Devils scored their runs in the bottom of the second inning as Dawson Hamilton, Bryce Lester and Taylor Bryan crossed the plate and Jake Millay and Caleb Young picked up RBIs.
Central’s Kyle Hubbuch [3-3] bounced back from that inning to hold Lebanon to seven hits and a walk while striking out six as the Blue Devils dropped to 8-15 for the season.
The Wildcats scored four times in the third inning, twice in the fourth and five times in the sixth. Tony Pfefferle’s two-run double put Central on the board, Dalton McCorkle’s RBI single tied the score and Kyle Schmitt’s sacrifice fly put the visitors ahead to stay.
McCorkle and Schmitt each drove in two runs. McCorkle collected three of Central’s 14 hilts while Hubbuch, Schmitt, Jake Lefler and Ben Spradley each had two off a quartet of Lebanon pitchers as the Wildcats climbed to 5-3 in the district and pulled even at 11-11 for the season.
Jackson Arnold pitched 3 1/3 innings and took the loss.

Central will go to Bradley Central tonight for a 7 p.m. CDT game against Rhea County as part of the Trojan Classic hosted by Soddy-Daisy.
