Bears play for 9-AAA soccer title after two OT wins

GALLATIN — Mt. Juliet will face Station Camp for the District 9-AAA soccer championship tonight at Gallatin after posting two overtime wins this week.

The Golden Bears edged longtime district and state power Hendersonville 4-3 in the semifinals, handing the Commandos their first semifinal setback.

Tanner Dabell’s second goal of the game was the game-winner in overtime from 25 yards out on a laser into the top corner. Austin Coleman connected for the other two goals.

Cameron Woodfin finished with two assists and Coleman and Colbe Earles one each.

Dylan Cole collected 15 saves.

Mt. Juliet opened the tournament with a 4-3 overtime win over Gallatin as Woodfin’s hat trick was capped by the winner with six seconds left in OT on a free kick.

Earles tied the game with six minutes left in regulation.
