Friends of NRA recently made a donation to help fund the effort.

Hunting season changes: A number of changes involving 2014-15 hunting season were proposed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency at its recent meeting, including having no fall turkey season in Giles, Wayne and Lawrence counties. For some unknown reason, the turkey populations have plunged in those counties in recent years.
The proposed 2015 spring turkey season will remain unchanged, with an opening date of April 4.
Some counties will have anterless deer hunts this fall, and some Cumberland Plateau counties may get a bear season.
The October elk season and permit drawings remain unchanged.
All of the TWRA proposals must be approved and finalized by the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission at its meeting later this month.
Boating reminder: National Safe Boating Week is coming up, and with boat congestion expected to be at an all-time high on area lakes, the TWRA has issued a number of safety reminders.
A point of focus will be on impaired boat operators. Boating under the influence of alcohol carries penalties similar to driving under the influence.
Also, one an approved floatation device per passenger must be aboard every boat, and easily accessible -- not stored in a compartment.
