Cumberland volleyball coach Dwayne Deering announced his 2014 schedule this week, which includes 19 home matches and the club’s two annual tournaments at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.

The Bulldogs open the 2014 campaign with the Volleydawg Classic on August 29-30, facing Tennessee Temple, Brescia, Pensacola Christian, Johnson and Fisk. CU will then play Pikeville to begin Mid-South Conference action on Sept. 4.

The club will take on Fisk, Point and Oglethorpe in the Sewanee Invitational and travels to Trevecca Nazarene before hosting the Cumberland Classic on Sept. 12-13, facing Freed-Hardeman, Ohio Valley, Reinhardt, Ohio Christian and Fisk.

Only three nonconference matches remain once the Bulldogs reach the middle of September, a home-and-home with Tennessee Tempe and a home match versus Trevecca Nazarene. CU will play host to Mid-South Conference opponents Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown College, the University of the Cumberlands, Shawnee State, St. Catharine and Campbellsville.

The Mid-South Conference Championships will take place Nov. 13-15.
