BRENTWOOD — Kadarian Garnett won the Section 3-AAA high jump Thursday night, tying a school record in the process and qualifying for the state meet.

Garnett’s 6-6 tied Britton Winfree’s mark and sent him to next Friday’s state final at Middle Tennessee State’s Dean Hayes Stadium.

Garnett finished sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 43-1. Raheem Reynolds was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 19-6.

Only the top four finishers qualify for the state.

Running events will be held Friday with Lebanon’s Aisha Springette competing in the girls’ 100 meters, Jameka Dowell in the girls’ 300 hurdles and Mark Britt in the boys’ 3,200 meters.
