Cumberland baseball team to get parade, celebration

A welcome-home celebration for the national Cumberland University baseball team is set for Monday morning in Lebanon.

The baseball team won the National Championship Friday evening when they beat Lewis-Clark State College in the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.

The celebration will begin with a parade at 10:30 a.m., followed by a picnic at the Ernest L. Stockton Field / Woody Hunt Stadium. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served, and the public is invited to attend.

The parade will begin on campus, travel north on S. Tarver Avenue, travel east on W. Main St., circle the Lebanon Public Square and return to campus via the same route. Remarks will be made at the picnic about 11:30 a.m.
