Southside baseball tryouts moved to June 16-17

Southside Elementary School baseball tryouts for the 2015 team have been rescheduled to 4-6 p.m. June 16-17 at the Saints’ Stumpy Lane field due to this week’s forecasted rain. All players who will be in grades 5-8 this fall are encouraged to attend. Players must be dressed in proper baseball attire – t-shirt, baseball pants, cleats, baseball hat and glove. They must also bring a current physical form in order to try out. For more information, phone coach John Guethlein at 290-3204.

Cumberland baseball camps in June, July

Several different Cumberland baseball camps will be held in June and July. An all-day fundamental camp for ages 8-14 will be held from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. June 16-19 for $175. Lunch will be provided. A pitching camp for ages 8-14 will be held from 9 a.m.-noon June 23-26 for $95. An advanced fundamental camp for ages 13-18  will be held June 30-July 3 for $95. The camps, conducted by Hall of Fame coach Woody Hunt, will provided a  t-shirt and access to CU equipment, Benton Jennings Indoor Facility and Woody Hunt Stadium/Ernest L. Stockton Field. Watertown volleyball tryouts June 11-13

Watertown High School volleyball tryouts will be held from 9-11 a.m. June 11-13. Players will need to be present all three days. Contact coach Brandy Holcomb at 237-3434 or email holcombb@wcschools.com for more information.

CU volleyball skills school June 11-14

Dwayne Deering will conduct his annual volleyball skills school at Cumberland’s Dallas Floyd Center from 9-11 a.m. June 11-14. Cost is $45 for each individual session, or $160 for all four. Golf for Toys Scramble set for June 20

The Lebanon Fire Department’s 11th annual Golf for Toys Scramble will be held at noon June 20 at Hunters Point. Proceeds will go to purchase toys for local children at Christmas. CU softball camps in June

Cumberland softball coach Heather Stanfill will conduct a pair of camps for ages 5-12 in June. The first camp will run June 16-18 and the second June 23-25. CU basketball camps in June, July

Cumberland women’s basketball coach Jeremy Lewis will conduct a pair of four-day basketball camps for boys and girls ages 6-13 June 23-26 and July 7-10. Cost of the camp is $120. Lunch will be included each day and the concession stand will be open. A camp t-shirt will also be included. Registration deadline is June 16, after which the camp cost will be $130 per camper. Bearette Basketball Camp July 7-9

The Bearette Basketball camp for girls in grades 2-8 will be held from 8-11 a.m. July 7-9 at Mt. Juliet High School. Cost is $60. A camp T-shirt will be provided.
