Cumberland Athletics announced its 2014 Gameday events last week, which includes honoring conference and national champions for baseball, wrestling, men’s golf, women’s soccer and men’s tennis, as well as a $2 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for each paying customer during one November contest.
The 2014 baseball national championship team will be recognized at halftime of the Sept. 6 contest versus the University of the Cumberlands by state representative Mark Pody. Wrestling national champion Jake Williams along with conference championship teams in women’s soccer, men’s golf and men’s tennis will be honored at halftime of the Sept. 20 game against Belhaven.
Homecoming activities will take place on Oct. 25 when the Bulldogs take on Campbellsville, while Fall Preview Day will be held Nov. 8 versus Reinhardt. Also on Nov. 8, for each paying customer, Cumberland will donate $2 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Senior Day activities for football, cheer/dance and the band will take place during the final home game of the season, Nov. 15 against Alderson Broaddus University.
More than 140 players are expected to report to campus the week of Aug. 11-14, as the Bulldogs begin preparation for the Sept. 6 season opener.
