Lions to play four games in Babe Ruth SE Regional

The Lebanon Lions will play a minimum of four games in the Babe Ruth Southeast Regional which begins Wednesday in Varina, Va.

The 10 teams will be grouped in a pair of five-team divisions with each team facing the other four in its group in pool play.

Tennessee’s state champions will face Arlington, Va., at noon CDT Wednesday. The Lions will play two games Thursday – at 9 a.m. against Lumber River West out of eastern North Carolina and at 3 p.m. against Tallassee [Ala.].

They will wrap up pool play at 9 a.m. Friday against Longwood out of south Florida.

The top two finishers in each pool will advance to a single-elimination semifinal round Saturday with the championship game to follow that afternoon.

The region champion will advance to the Babe Ruth World Series which will run Aug. 20-27 in Longview, Wash.
