Two members with the Wilson Emergency Management Agency are headed to Tallahassee, Florida for further assignments after assisting with flood relief in Jacksonville.

After traveling to Jacksonville with the rest of the Tennessee Emergency Medical Services Strike Team, Chief Shannon Cooper and Lt. Adrian McNabb were called back to Tallahassee where they will receive another assignment.

In Jacksonville, the team assisted by taking 911 calls related to the emergency relief. The crew arrived Monday, and by Tuesday afternoon, was on its way back to Tallahassee.

McNabb is traveling with a stuffed turtle given to him by his 3-year-old son to keep him safe. The crew has taken pictures with Stanley the turtle and sent them back to McNabb’s son.

In Tallahassee, the Tennessee EMS team will get a new assignment and go to whatever location needs their assistance the most.

The team is expected to spend up to three weeks in Florida working with flood relief.
