DES MOINES, Iowa — Four Wilson County wrestlers earned All-America honors Saturday for Team Tennessee at the AAU National Duals.

Wilson Central’s Alex Pergande went 8-0 to receive All-America, gold medal and Team Tennessee outstanding wrestler honors.

West Wilson’s Cole Fort, wrestling for Team Tennessee Black, was named team outstanding wrestler, received a gold medal and All-America honors after going 8-0. Southside’s Parker Bennet posted the same honors for the Red team.

Also on the Red team, Mt. Juliet Middle’s Hunter Borders went 7-1 to win a silver medal and All-America honors.

“It says a great deal about our program at all levels to not only have so many of our wrestlers make the Tennessee National Team, but to have one of our wrestlers named OW for every team represented there,” coach John Kramer said.

Fort, Parker and Borders, who will be Wilson Central freshmen next season, went a combined 23-1 at the duals.

In addition to the medalists, also representing Wilson County were West Wilson’s Preeston Jones and Riley Fort, Watertown’s Jacob Franklin and Walter J. Baird’s Steven Fisak on the middle-school level and Tyler Jones, Grant Fetters and Isaac Hodge on the high school division.
