Economic development is booming in Mt. Juliet with a large restaurant, auto parts store and another medical building in the works, according to City Manager Kenneth Martin.
“We continue to recruit aggressively in an attempt to bring our residents all the new businesses they want and desire,” said Martin.
Martin confirmed Penn Station Subs will open for business in Mt. Juliet, as well as Sprint.
He was mum about the prospect of “two other very good opportunities” he couldn’t discuss yet, but said, “I can assure you they both will be huge for Mt. Juliet.”
Martin did say negotiations are ongoing for a 10,000-square-foot restaurant and another retail building across from the south Publix. There will be a home décor store on Lebanon Road and Ceva Logistics and Hollister Medical are under construction.
Other new businesses for Mt. Juliet soon are Body Shop Fitness Center behind Holiday Inn Express, Pier One Imports, Providence Wine and Spirits, Ascend Credit Union and Sellars Funeral Home. Also on tap is a 20,000-square-foot Goodwill Store, Glass Creek Apartments and a new auto repair store in Providence, as well as a new mattress store.
“Our citizens deserve and expect the best, and it’s our job, goal and desire to do just that,” said Martin. “We are blessed to call Mt. Juliet home. It’s a city where the past is cherished, the present is enjoyed and the future is bright.”
