Lounita Howard has joined Lebanon Publishing Company as a marketing consultant.
Howard comes to Lebanon Publishing following a position as marketing director for the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.
Howard is no stranger to Lebanon Publishing, though, having been employed as a general assignment reporter and as news editor at The Lebanon Democrat from 1986-1998.
And her newspaper experience didn’t stop there. From 2002 until May 2014, she was the owner and publisher of The Watertown Gazette.
“I feel privileged to welcome Lounita back into the Democrat family. Her strengths as a communicator are already lending to new and improved relationships with our business customer base,” said Jesse Lindsey, vice president of Lebanon Publishing Company and publisher of The Democrat.
Howard earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Middle Tennessee State University.
In addition to her work with the Chamber, Howard was also active in civic organizations including Lebanon Kiwanis Club, the Lebanon Business and Professional Women’s Club and Wilson ONE. She served on the University Medical Center Board of Trustees and was co-founder of the Women Build for Wilson County Habitat for Humanity.
“I’m really excited to be back at Lebanon Publishing. As I’ve told many of my friends in the community, ‘It feels like home,’” said Howard. “I look forward to working with the business community to assist them with their marketing needs.”
