The eastbound lane of Interstate 40 was backed up from Lebanon to Mt. Juliet on Saturday afternoon as emergency crews worked to clear a wreck with injuries.
The wreck happened at about 6 p.m. at the 239 mile marker in Lebanon. Traffic at the 239 exit was rerouted around the wreck scene. Mt. Juliet police said the interstate was backed up to mile marker 226, 13 miles away.
At about 6:36 p.m., police re-opened the interstate, but it remained significantly backed up for a while.
It was unknown the extent of the injuries.
