A hit and run was reported Thursday around 8 p.m. on Carthage Highway in Lebanon, police confirmed.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a victim dead at the scene.
Police closed Carthage Highway and are currently searching for an unknown suspect.
A description of the suspect or vehicle is unknown.
The call for assistance was sent to authorities in Smith County and Wilson County Sheriff’s deputies.
Authorities are looking for a vehicle with signs of front-end damage and/or visible blood.
Lebanon police Chief Scott Bowen said more information would be available Friday morning.
