Just after 10 a.m. Monday morning, Lebanon police responded to an armed robbery at La Tienda Hispana.
According to police Chief Scott Bowen, a witness told police they saw a Hispanic male pull his sweatshirt over his face and then enter the La Tienda Hispana market, located at 214 S. Maple St.
“The employee told officers the suspect walked to the counter where she was counting money, pointed a gun at her and told her he didn’t want to kill her,” Bowen said. “The employee told police she ducked behind the counter and the suspect walked around and took the money she was counting.”
Bowen said the suspect then fled the scene on foot and that officers also found money behind the store that was most like dropped by the suspect as he fled.
“A warrant has been issued for the suspect and police are actively trying to locate him,” Bowen said.
