The Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce is set to kick off its 90th anniversary with its annual membership meeting and awards banquet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre in Lebanon.
Sue Vanatta, president of the chamber, said the chamber’s official 90th anniversary would be in September of this year, but the event Thursday will serve as a kickoff to celebrate 90 years strong for the chamber.
According to Vanatta, this year’s annual banquet will feature highlights of the past 90 years and recognize past chamber presidents and chairs.
Vanatta said the event will feature dinner, speeches from the current and last year’s chamber chairs, highlights of things from the past and future of the chamber and an award presentation.
“Awards that will be given out will go to several different individuals and businesses that have made a difference in the community over the past year,” Vanatta said.
Vanatta also said they will give away a new chamber magazine that was “hot off the press.”
“The theme for the night will be the ‘20s because the chamber was formed in the ‘20s,” Vanatta said. “We just look forward to everyone coming out and having a good time.”
A mirror and backdrop will be available for guests to take pictures at the event, Vanatta said.
Reservations are $45 per person and tables are $200. For more information, call 615-444-5503.
As of Thursday, Vanatta said about 280 tickets had been sold and only about 20 tickets remained available.
