Lebanon residents will soon have another option to get a coffee fix.
Seattle-based coffee giant, Starbucks, confirmed plans to open a retail coffee shop in Lebanon.
“Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers, and we are happy to confirm that will be opening our first location in Lebanon, Tenn. at the end of the summer on South Cumberland Street,” said a Starbucks spokesperson in an email Wednesday.
The announcement follows nearly a year to the day after Starbucks confirmed plans to open a 680,000-square-foot distribution center along State Route 840 off Central Pike.
At that time, the company kept hush about any potential retail coffee shop locations.
“Choosing a site for a new Starbucks location is a key element in providing customers with the Starbucks experience, and we carefully consider many factors when opening a new store. At this time, we have no announcements regarding a potential new location in Lebanon,” said a spokesperson last February.
The planned location will be the first full Starbucks location in Lebanon and the second in Wilson County. Currently, the only Starbucks location is inside Target in Mt. Juliet. There is also a Starbucks kiosk in Library Hall at Cumberland University.
Starbucks, which as of September boasted nearly 20,000 stores worldwide, offers a variety of coffee blends freshly brewed, hot and iced espresso beverages, smoothies, teas, pastries and more.
The stores also offer consumer products such as coffee- and tea-brewing equipment, mugs and accessories, music books and gifts.
