The 15th Granville Country Christmas will feature an expanded Santa’s workshop at the Granville Bed & Breakfast on Dec. 14 from noon until 3:30 p.m.
The bed and breakfast will be transformed into a Santa’s workshop, where Santa’s helpers will assist children in buying gifts for parents and siblings. The gifts will range in price from 50 cents to $5 at greatly reduced prices. Children will also have the chance to create a craft and eat cookies. Parents are asked to wait by the door while the children do their shopping.
At 2 p.m., the Granville Christmas Parade will be held on the street in front of the bed and breakfast followed by a visit from Santa from 2:30-3:30 p.m. At 2:30 p.m., storywriter Liz Bennett will read “Christmas in Granville,” which she recently wrote on the adventures of a Granville Christmas. The book will be read at the bed and breakfast with the children seated around Santa.
Granville Country Christmas will also feature children’s rides from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., which will feature a Christmas train ride plus several other rides.
Granville Country Christmas will also feature a Christmas musical, “This is the Season,” at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Christmas in the Country musical, performed by “The Band of Faith,” of Lebanon, will feature bluegrass music at 1 p.m.,
Also featured will be the festival of trees, Victorian Christmas at Sutton Homestead, a grist mill, weaving, loom and blacksmith bhops operating, Christmas at 1860s Homestead, an antique toy show, food and shopping in the Christmas town of yesteryear.
