Historic Granville has started a series of classes on old-fashioned crafts of yesteryear with the first class to be Old Fashioned Art of Making Cold Process Soap taught by Sarah Redding of Two Mules Mercantile.

The class will be taught at the historic Sutton General Store, Granville on July 19 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a southern lunch served by the general store.

Each person will learn fact from myth as you create your own half-pound bar of soap to take home. You will create a unique bar all your own by mixing essential and fragrance oils with texture additives.

The cost of the class is $30 and you can reserve your space by calling 931-653-4151 as space is limited. The store now sells Two Mules Mercantile soap with flavors of lemon fresh, lavender, honey and oat, hoof salve lotion bar and many others.
