Two suspects in the August shooting death of a Lebanon man were arraigned in Wilson County Court Thursday.
Derrick Devaughn Carr, 20, of Nashville, and Shawn Derrick Betty Jr., 20, of Nashville, who were charged with the Aug. 10 shooting death of Andre D. Logue and shooting Justin L. Johnson, were extradited from Michigan last week.
On Aug. 13, a Wilson County grand jury indicted Carr and Betty for first-degree premeditated murder, felony first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon involved.
Police were unable to locate the men, and on Aug. 17, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added the two suspects to its 10 most wanted list, and police issued a $1,000 reward each for information leading to the capture of either Carr or Betty.
Although the trail turned cold for a little while, the men turned up in Farmington Hills, Mich., when police stopped the men for suspicion of driving under the influence on Aug. 29.
"Once at booking, police discovered Carr was wanted in our city," Bowen said. "Police also learned that his accomplice, Shawn Betty Jr., was in the car with him but he lied about his identity and had been released. Later that morning, police found Betty."
U.S. marshals found Betty at about 11 a.m., Bowen said.
Bond was set at $250,000 each.
