Lebanon police are investigating a strong-arm robbery at the First Tennessee Bank on Thursday night.

According to police Chief Scott Bowen, the incident happened at about 6:20 p.m. at the bank’s 246 W. Main St. branch.

“The victim told officers that she was in the drive through lane at the bank, waiting to make the night deposit for her employer, when an unknown black male approached her and demanded her cellphone and money,” Bowen said. “She handed over her phone and the money bag, and the suspect fled toward a vehicle that was waiting for him.”

Bowen said witnesses reported the suspect got into a newer model black pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet or GMC extended cab with dual exhaust, and headed north of N. Greenwood St.

He said the suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and a black mask.
