Police charged a Lebanon man with assault Monday after a victim stabbed him with a steak knife and before officers found he had six more active warrants from Lauderdale County.

Lebanon police responded to a 911 call Monday on Greentree Pointe Circle in reference to an aggravated domestic assault.

After police arrived and spoke to witnesses, they found Terry Pillow, 37, of Lebanon, to be the alleged attacker.

According to the police report, Nellie Hankines said Pillow was yelling at her and shoving her. Hankines’ son then tried to stop Pillow, but Pillow allegedly grabbed him by the throat and shoved him against the stove.

In defense, Hankines’ son then grabbed a steak knife and stabbed Pillow in the backside of his shoulder once.

Police said Pillow was then taken to the University Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury. Police said there were visible marks on Hankines’ son’s neck, and he was also taken to the hospital.

Pillow was arrested at University Medical Center and charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault.

Following Pillow’s arrest, police said a National Crime Information Center computer check revealed Pillow had six active warrants out of Lauderdale County.

Police said Lauderdale County authorities were contacted and Pillow was placed on hold at Wilson County Jail.
