Wilson County Sheriff’s Officers responded to a robbery call at the Gladeville Dollar General around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday night.

Officers said the victim, Tommy Engle, 33, said William Spickard, 20, of Gladeville, picked him up to go to the Dollar General.

According to reports, Engle told officers that upon arrival to the store Spickard pulled what he thought was a Glock from his waistband, pointed at him and told him “gimme everything you got.”

Engle said he gave Spickard $200 in cash and got out of the vehicle. He said Spickard then “tore out of the parking lot” and fired one to two shots at him.

A witness said he saw Engle get out of the vehicle then saw the vehicle pull out of the parking lot and heard what he thought was the truck backfiring twice.

Officers later found Spickard and charged him with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and theft of property.
