Wilson County law enforcement charged a Lebanon man last week with the rape of a child under 13 years old.
Robert Henry Hicks, 61, of Lebanon, was arrested April 17 and charged following a Wilson County grand jury indictment.
Lebanon police investigated the case, and all findings were turned over to the district attorney’s office, according to Chief Scott Bowen.
“After an investigation he has been charged,” Bowen said.
Following his arrest, Hicks was held on $50,000 bond and remained Wednesday in Wilson County Jail.
Hicks’ next court date is set for May 15.
Bowen would not release the police report. According to state law, because the state Department of Child Protective Services was involved and due to the age of the victim, the police report on the case was deemed confidential and not available for inspection under state open records law.
