Former Wilson County sheriff’s deputy and former Board of Education member Greg Lasater, who was accused of stealing gas, had his case continued Tuesday.
Last July, Lasater was indicted by a grand jury on 32 counts, which included 16 counts each for misdemeanor theft of property less than $500 in value and felony official misconduct.
Following the continuation this week, his next scheduled hearing is set for July 23.
Lasater, 46, of Lebanon, previously resigned from his 26-year career as a deputy, along with his seat on the school board, in June after a month-long investigation into allegations he was stealing gas from the sheriff’s department. He was a school resource officer and was serving his third term on the school board.
