Metro Nashville police said arrest warrants for criminal impersonation of a police officer, false imprisonment and theft were issued against convicted robber Charles Virgil Thompson II, 31.
Thompson allegedly took a man’s ATM card and attempted to withdraw money Wednesday morning while posing as a police officer. He is also accused of committing a similar offense last Tuesday in the 800 block of Murfreesboro Pike in Nashville.
In that case, a man pulled over after a vehicle with an interior flashing blue light began to follow him. The victim surrendered his wallet to a man posing as a police officer who took his cash.
Metro Nashville police said Thompson was positively identified in both incidents. Detectives are still working to identify Thompson’s female accomplice.
In addition to robbery, Thompson has previous convictions for unlawful gun possession, theft and drug possession.
Anyone who knows Thompson’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
