NASHVILLE – Officers arrested the state’s most recent top 10 most wanted fugitive, Rodrecus Montrell Smith, of Nashville, without incident in Madison.
He was added to the most wanted list two days ago.
In the early morning hours Wednesday, TBI special agents, U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Metropolitan Nashville police officers found Smith. Information was developed from tips, which led authorities to 645 Cheyenne Blvd. in Madison, where Smith was found hiding in a closet and taken into custody.
Metro Nashville police and TBI agents wanted Smith, 25, for his alleged involvement in an Oct. 30 fatal shooting. The victim, Mario McKnight, 35, was fatally shot in Nashville. Smith was charged with murder and robbery in connection with the incident.
Additionally, Smith was also wanted for felony probation violation, domestic assault, vandalism and failure to appear in court on charges of gun possession by a convicted felon, drug possession and resisting arrest. Smith has a criminal history of violence, drug and traffic-related charges.
He was booked in at the Davidson County Jail and held without bond.
