A driver led Mt. Juliet police, Wilson County Sheriff’s deputies, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Lebanon police on a high-speed chase this weekend, according to a report released Thursday.

Police said a Mt. Juliet patrol officer saw the car traveling at 80 miles per hour southbound on Mt. Juliet Road Saturday at about 4 a.m. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver instead turned onto Interstate 40 east.

“The driver by this time should have realized that he/she was being stopped,” according to the report.

The vehicle continued traveling east on I-40, passing exits 236, 238 and 239. When officers still couldn’t stop the vehicle by the Linwood Road exit, Mt. Juliet police ended the pursuit, but not before officers obtained the license plate number.

The suspect was not apprehended, but according to the report, charges of speeding, evading arrest, reckless driving and driving without a license are pending.

The suspect’s identity was not released.
