The Lebanon High School Humane Society Club donated about $500 worth of bought and donated items to the New Leash on Life shelter in Lebanon.

Dee Fontenot and club members Selena Salgado, Mackenzie Scott and Austin Matthews recently delivered donated towels and pet supplies to the shelter. The club is sponsored by Fontenot, and has business sponsors Tractor Supply Co., Wilson Farmers Coop, Petsense and CVS, which have all donated items for the club.

The club plans to have special events throughout the spring to continue to raise money for the shelter, and they plan to have a working field trip at the shelter in May, where they will help with cleaning and organizing storage, as well as giving the dogs and cats some special “people time.” Club members will also participate with the shelter in the Bark In the Park fundraiser, scheduled for May 31 at the Wilson County Fairgrounds.

The club seeks donations of any food, pet supplies or old towels. Donations may be brought to Fontenot’s room B-309 at Lebanon High School or call 615-444-9610, ext. 3333.
