Local students receive degrees from the University of Iowa

Approximately 5,000 students received degrees from the University of Iowa at the close of the 2014 spring semester.

Students from Wilson County receiving degrees include Jessica Gilbert of Lebanon, with a bachelor of science in chemistry and a CER in entrepreneurial management.

Morris named to dean’s list

Tevonne Morris of Lebanon has been named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at American International College in Springfield, Mass. Morris was one of more than 400 AIC students recognized for their academic achievements. Morris is a Management Major major.

Dean’s list students are full-time students, with a grade point average between 3.3 and 4.0 for the semester.

Patten awarded APSU scholarship

Austin Peay State University has announced that Charles Patten of Lebanon has been awarded the APSU President’s Community College Graduate Scholarship.

Transfer scholarships to APSU are awarded to Hopkinsville Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents community college graduates who achieve a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 while completing their associate degree.

The application for admissions to APSU is the application for these awards. To receive priority consideration for these renewable scholarships, transfer students should apply for admission at apsu.edu/apply by Nov. 15.

Winegeart named to dean’s list

Karsten Winegeart of Old Hickory was recognized for outstanding academic accomplishments by being named to the LeTourneau University dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

Winegeart achieved a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.99 for the semester to receive this honor.
