Locals awarded scholarships at Vol State

Four area students have been awarded Presidential Academic Service Scholarships at Volunteer State Community College.

Four area students have been awarded Presidential Academic Service Scholarships at Volunteer State Community College.

All students who applied for private scholarships at Vol State were screened. Those chosen had a 26 or better on the ACT, a 3.5 high school GPA and met the March deadline. The scholarship provides $4,000 for the year. The students will work 75 hours with Vol State campus offices each semester.

Volunteer State Community College has more than 70 programs of study and offers two-year degrees, certificates and paths to university transfer. Continuing Education and Workforce Development extends the college mission to the entire community. For more information, visit volstate.edu.
