College Hills Church of Christ will play host to the upcoming “Does God Exist?” seminar, featuring John Clayton.
The free seminar will be March 2-4 in the church’s auditorium and will consist of eight sessions each 40 minutes to an hour in length.
Clayton, a physics teacher and geologist by profession, was a devout atheist until his early 20s and was part of the same organized atheist group that made Madeline Murray O'Hair famous.
While in the process of writing a book called “All the Stupidity of the Bible,” his research slowly led him to the surprising conclusion that the Bible was actually true. Clayton eventually became a Christian, and he now travels the U.S. giving about 40 lectures per year on the subject, "Does God Exist?"
Clayton holds bachelor and master’s degrees from Indiana University in math and physics and a master’s degree in earth science from the University of Notre Dame. A few of his honors include Distinguished Physics Teacher for the State of Indiana in 1985 by the American Association of Physics Teachers; STAR Instructor for Indiana Department of Public Instruction in 1990; South Bend Community School Corporation High School Teacher of the Year and School Corporation Teacher of the Year in 1991.
Clayton has presented seminars on the compatibility of science and faith for more than 40 years.
