NASHVILLE – The Nashville Rescue Mission seeks to provide the hungry and homeless in Middle Tennessee a traditional Easter meal, including ham, green beans, potatoes, rolls and pie during the holiday weekend.

This year’s celebration will be April 18-20.

“Between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, Nashville Rescue Mission will serve more than 4,000 meals to the hungry and homeless in our community, said Glenn Cranfield, president and CEO of Nashville Rescue Mission. “And it’s not just those who are homeless who come seeking a nutritious meal. We’ll see plenty of men, women and children who are struggling to make ends meet and could benefit from a hot, nutritious meal. Regardless of the situation or circumstance, the Mission’s doors are open to anyone in need.”

Nashville Rescue Mission, along with more than 300 Rescue Missions across the country, will serve millions of meals to the homeless and hungry throughout the United States during the Easter weekend.

The community is invited to help make this meal possible through donations of boneless hams, No. 10 canned vegetables, potatoes and more. A complete list of items needed for the Easter meal can be downloaded at nashvillerescuemission.org/uploads/1337.pdf. Donations will be received Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. until p.m. at the Mission’s Donation Center at 616 Seventh Ave. S. in Nashville. Donations may also be made online at nashvillerescuemission.org/donate.

Since 1954, Nashville Rescue Mission has been meeting the needs of the poor and homeless through emergency services and life-recovery programs focusing on spiritual growth, education and employment with a goal of restoring hope and transforming lives.
